In the Bay Area, Jason Jacobeit and Daniel Jung are working on a restaurant and regenerative farm in Menlo Park, Café Vivant, led by Jared Wentworth (Moody Tongue) and chef de cuisine Emily Phillips. Mexican breakfast spot El Mil Amores is opening another location, Regalito El Mil Amores, in the Regalito Rosticeria space. 

In Los Angeles, Max Reis planted Daisy Margarita Bar in Sherman Oaks. Ruby Fruit reopened in Silver Lake. Ippudo Ramen added a second Los Angeles location in Culver City. John and Katianna Hong are closing Yangban in the Arts District, with plans to reopen in a new location. 

In Hermosa Beach, the Sea Sprite hotel reopens May 1 as the Sea Sprite Beach Club, complete with oceanfront restaurant, Surfer Girl

 

In San Diego, Eric Bost and John Resnick (both Wildland) cut the tape on their anticipated Carlsbad tasting menu venture, Lilo

In Seattle, Rudy Riveron signed on as executive chef of Poquitos. When the carbon-positive Populus Seattle hotel opens later this spring, it will feature Salt Harvest, a hearth-fired restaurant focused on local ingredients, and a to-be-named rooftop bar. The folks behind Beast and Cleaver are working on a new English pub, Little Beast. After more than a century in business, The Virginia Inn restaurant closes April 27. Maximillian Petty closes Eden Hill in September. 

In Las Vegas, Ortikia Mediterranean Grill is closing in Henderson. 

In Denver, while Toshi Kizaki debuted Japanese-inspired Kizaki, Jeff Osaka shuttered Sushi-Rama

In Phoenix, Little Pickle deli reopened on The Esplanade. Don Guerra (Barrio Bread) marks his local debut with forthcoming Don Guerra’s Barrio Bagel & Slice in Gilbert. Bernie Kantak plans a new sushi spot, Minnow, for Arcadia this spring. Sexy Roman replaces Sushi Roku at the W Scottsdale this season. 

In Boise, Daryn Colledge introduced an Italian steakhouse, Corso, and later this year, Seattle-based El Gaucho steakhouse marks its local debut.
