In Los Angeles, David LeFevre (Fishing with Dynamite) teamed with Alice Mai (Waterloo & City) to open AttaGirl in Hermosa Beach. The historic Sky Room reopened atop the Fairmont Breakers Long Beach, led by Executive Chef Jared Reeves and Chef de Cuisine Max Pfeiffer. Salt bread pop-up, Out of Ordi, is getting a permanent bakery in Koreatown. Michael Fiorelli closes Fiorelli Pizza at the Cook’s Garden this summer, with plans to relocate to a permanent location in West Hollywood. 

In the Bay Area, Armando Lacayo expanded Ariscault bakery to Mission Rock. Deirdre Balao Rieutort-Louis (Aphotic) took over as pastry chef at Dalida. Tom Leeper became the senior vice president of operations at Slice House by Tony Gemignani. Chris Dumesnil expands Russian-inspired Aydea to the Inner Richmond this week. Florent Thomas and Simon Mournier opened a French bistro, Caché, in the Inner Sunset. Meichih and Michael Kim (Maum) weave together Taiwanese and Korean influences at Menlo Park’s forthcoming Yeobo, Darling

In San Diego, Claudette Zepeda paid homage to her Mexican-American heritage at Leucadia’s newly opened Leu Leu
