In San Diego, Brad Wise (Trust) goes French for his next project, A’L’ouest, due this May in North Park. 

In Los Angeles, Liu’s Cafe branched out in Koreatown with an Asian-inspired ice cream shop, Liu’s Creamery. Heavy Handed is bringing its smash burgers to the former All Day Baby space in Silver Lake. Fox’s, Miya, Side Pie, and Everest are some of the Altadena restaurants tragically destroyed by the Eaton wildfire. Shins Pizza is no more. Bernhard Mairinger shutters Lustig January 26, and January 31 marks the end for Guerrilla Tacos

In the Bay Area, George’s Donuts & Merriment paired pastries with wine in West Portal. The Smish Smash burger pop-up begins a residency at Saluhall January 25. George Chen and Cindy Wong-Chen are opening an offshoot of China Live, called Asia Live, at Westfield Valley Fair this fall.  

 

In Las Vegas, Caspian’s Cocktails & Caviar arrived at Caesars Palace. Montana Meat Company closed after 20 years in Centennial Hills. Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry close International Smoke at MGM Grand January 19. 

In Denver, Sushi Sasa closed after more than two decades. 

In Boise, the folks behind The Lively plan a tavern-style smokehouse, The House of the Little Pig, for Barber Valley this year. Richard’s closed downtown, making room for a forthcoming steakhouse called Hemlock
