In Louisville, The Cottage Inn Restaurant is closing after nearly a century.
In Nashville, The Catbird Seat reopened in a new location on the top floor of the Bill Voorhess Building, helmed by husband-wife chef duo Andy Doubrava and Tiffani Ortiz. Sean Brock rolled out Neapolitan-style Sho Pizza Bar in East Nashville; the chef also appointed Sam Jett as executive chef of his Appalachian-inspired restaurant, Audrey. Detroit steakhouse Prime + Proper opens in the Grand Hyatt Nashville later this year.
In Tulsa, Tucker’s Onion Burgers opened in Tulsa Hills.
In Atlanta, Pat Pascarella closed Bastone in West Midtown.
In Savannah, Perry Lane Hotel welcomed Jonathan Teague as Director of Food & Beverage.
In San Antonio, longstanding Tex-Mex staple Teka Molino is opening an outpost at Make Ready Market.
In Fort Worth, The Nobleman Fort Worth, Tapestry Collection by Hilton debuted in the Near Southside, along with its restaurant, Duchess, with a menu from consulting chef Casey Thompson.
In Charleston, Pelato served up red-sauce Italian fare, from Theresa and Anthony Scotto Jr., and Anthony Scotto III. We’re sad to report that Robert Carter (Peninsula Grill) passed away at 59.
In Miami, Buenos Aires’ Niño Gordo marked its U.S. debut in Wynwood. maman adds its eighth Florida location in Brickell May 29.
In Jacksonville, Dorothy’s Downtown served up Creole and Southern cuisine downtown, with Marvin Barnes as executive chef. Ajua Mexican Kitchen & Bar landed on Jacksonville Beach.
In Pensacola, Bounce Beach Pensacola joins the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk lineup May 30.
In Tampa, 2015 Plate Chef to Watch Lee Wolen made his Florida debut with Elliott Aster, now open at The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club. Riverwalk Terrace opened at Tampa Marriott Water Street, while Perk checked in at the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street; Matthew Brennan serves as executive chef of both properties.
In the Bahamas, Atlantis Paradise Island started a Thai dinner pop-up concept, Kò Sà-Wăn, from Ian Kittichai, with a seafood-centric restaurant — Claudio’s Bahamas — due this month.
In Punta Mita, Mexico, Casa Dragones Palapa Bar by Rubra opened at the W Punta de Mita, within Daniela Soto-Innes’ Rubra.
