Chefs on the Move: Northeast News

In New York City, Chintan Pandya and chef de cuisine Neel Kajale relocated their contemporary Indian effort, Adda, to the East Village. Eric LeVine brought a tasting menu concept, Evolution, to the 42 Hotel. JR & Son reopened in Williamsburg under Patricia Vega (Thai Diner). Next Door brought sushi and Champagne to Wegmans Astor Place. Ed Cotton opened City Tavern and Table at VIA 57 West. Michael Balboni and Vincent Cortese teamed up to launch Twist Catering. Jooho Song (Per Se) joined Oiji Mi as chef de cuisine. The Kine Musubi pop-up evolves into a permanent restaurant on the Upper West Side in August. Shaver Hall is a forthcoming Midtown food hall, with vendors including an omakase spot from BK Park (Juno Sushi), PastaSole, Tallow Steakhouse, F&F Pizzeria, Korean-inspired Chick Chick. Black Seed Bagels folded in the East Village.

In New Jersey, Consigliere is a new wine bar in Newark. 

In Boston, Danny Meyer and Union Square Hospitality bring New York’s Daily Provisions to Harvard Square this summer. Strega shuttered in Back Bay. Melissa Stefanini closed Super Bien

 

In Maine, Ram & Bull tavern debuted in the former Joshua’s location in Brunswick. The owners of The Millers Table are opening The Biergarten at the Spinning Mill development, with a German menu manned by Erik Levine. TJ Castiello brings roast beef sandwiches to Lewiston next month with Bene’s Beef

In Connecticut, Taproot closed in South Norwalk. 

In Pittsburgh, The 404 Restaurant folded in Bethel Park. 

In Irvington, Va., The Tides Inn tapped Kyle Perkins as executive chef of the resort and its dining properties, Salt & Meadow and Fish Hawk Oyster Bar.
