In Boston, Lydia Shire (Scampo) took the helm at Bar Enza as culinary director. Shy Bird spread its wings with a Fenway outpost of the rotisserie chicken concept. Danny Meyer and Union Square Hospitality mark their Boston debuts this year with outposts of Ci Siamo and Daily Provisions at Commonwealth Pier

In New York City, Soogil Lim and Sasook Youn (both Soogil) made it official at their kimchi-centric tasting menu spot, RAON, in Midwest East. Abishek Sharma (Rang) paid homage to Indian weddings at newly opened Madam Ji Ki Shaadi. Win Son Bakery expanded to the East Village. Bateman’s cocktail bar arrived in the East Village. Park Lane New York welcomed Ali Dey Daly as the director of culinary, including Calvert’s, Rose Lane lobby bar, and Darling rooftop bar. Gabriel Kreuther plans two new restaurants, one spotlighting live-fire cooking and the other offering grab-and-go items, for Hudson Yards later this year. Known for its breakfast tacos, the Border Town pop-up goes permanent in Greenpoint in September. Owners/Partners Jeanine and Kate Royce and Chef Teerawong “Yo” Nanthavatsiri open Thai street food restaurant BKK New York in Midtown on March 14.

In Philadelphia, Nanu’s Hot Chicken landed in West Chester. 

 

In Washington, D.C., KNEAD Hospitality + Design went fine dining with new tasting menu spot, Sagrada. The Bar at River Club opened in Georgetown, fusing flavors from Lebanon, Spain, and Italy. Stephen Starr reopened the historic Occidental. When the Sixty DC hotel arrives in Dupont Circle this spring, it will feature Mediterranean-inspired Casamara and Reynold’s cocktail bar. Tyson Cole continues his nationwide expansion of Austin-based sushi concept Uchi with a D.C. location this fall.

In New Jersey, David Viana (Heirloom Kitchen) and Neilly Robinson arrived at Asbury Park’s St. Laurent hotel with Judy’s restaurant and Harry’s bar. 

In New Hampshire, The Scenic Lounge arrived in Rochester. 

In Providence, a second location of Wally’s Wieners is headed to the Old Canteen space. 

In Baltimore, Midlina and Poe’s Tower is a new restaurant and speakeasy combination in Canton, with Cy Keefer as chef. Paulie Gee’s pulled the plug on its Hampden location.
