In Cincinnati, Crown Restaurant Group planted Marigold downtown, featuring British-influenced fare from Megan Yung (Cabra).
In Chicago, Hearth Hospitality Group made it official at The Greggory, a hearth- and rotisserie-fired concept at The Arboretum in South Barrington. Nadine O’Malley opened Carpenter Street in the West Loop, featuring elevated American fare from Jessica Zegers (Duck Duck Goat). Ballyhoo Hospitality marked its latest venture with Sophia Steak in the Gold Coast. 5 Rabanitos expanded to Hyde Park. Hiro Izakaya will open this spring in the former Porto space. S.K.Y. will close its original Pilson location after seven years on March 19. Chef/Owner Stephen Gillanders has plans to reopen in Lincoln Park, but no firm date is set.
In Detroit, the vegan pop-up Street Beet secured its first permanent location in Corktown.
In Indianapolis, Erin Kem and Logan McMahan opened Mediterranean-inspired Corridor in the Nicole-Taylor’s Pasta space. Ambrosia Hospitality introduced French-influenced Josephine in Carmel.
In Cleveland, Dante Boccuzzi is working on a sushi concept, Masu, at the Valor Acres development.
In Des Moines, Mikel Nguyen opened Arcadia, a seasonally inspired fusion concept in Polk City.
In St. Louis, SweetArt Too added a second location in City Foundry, and Side Project Pizza debuted in Maplewood.
