In Detroit, Norm’s Diner got cooking in the West Village. Mike Finsilver is opening his first standalone sandwich shop, Tall Trees Cafe, in Ferndale.
In Milwaukee, the owners of Rod-N-Makk launched Fonzarelli’s Italian Deli in 3rd Street Market. 1033 Omakase is in the works for Walker’s Point.
In Cleveland, Doug Katz made it official at his latest venture, Kiln. Travel-inspired Flight Social touched down, with internationally themed food “flights,” downtown. The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland welcomed Manikandan Ramalingam as executive chef and Jesus Caperon as sous chef.

In Columbus, Daniel Chen filled the vacant El Segundo space with a new sushi concept, The 698 Restaurant.
In Sioux Falls, Big Sioux Burger and Dahlia Kitchen + Bar both debuted in The Steel District. Plaza Azteca is expanding to the East Side.
In Wichita, A & J Poke Ramen moved into the shuttered Bento Cafe. The Big Biscuit plans its first local outpost.
