Maya-Camille Broussard Uses Her Pies as a Platform for Social Change

“My dad was at the courthouse and there was nothing to eat in his house but a jar of olives,” remembers Maya-Camille Broussard, owner of the Chicago bakery Justice of the Pies. “So I ate the whole thing, and I broke out in the worst rash all over my body. And my aunt asked, ‘Why would you do that?’ And I was like, ‘There was nothing else in the house.’”
