The James Beard chef and restaurant awards will be handed out in Chicago tonight, and we've rounded up some recipes from nominees. Ori Menashe's second restaurant, Bavel, is nominated for Best New Restaurant (try the grilled beef tongue from his first restaurant, Bestia), while Ashley Christensen is nominated for Outstanding Chef (try her grilled octopus recipe from Death & Taxes). Vishwesh Bhatt of Snackbar is up for Best Chef: South, and we have his recipe for crab dal vada, while the artichoke and potato salad from Katy Millard of Coquine is a good way to taste the talents of the Best Chef: Northwest nominee.
